Everybody at Benwell Hill has been delighted to see the restart of our Women's team in the Northumberland Women's Cricket League. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Mark Wright (Team Manager), Amy Chapman (Captain) and Nicky Baguely (Vice Captain) the Women's team have had a great start to the season with morale boosting wins over South North 2's and Riding Mill, and this week our Girls Under 14 team eventually got their season started with a first game win againt Newcastle CC, after their first 3 games were cancelled due to the rain.
The Women's team is largely made up of daughters, sisters, mothers and girlfriends of club members, and we have also welcomed a number of new players for 2026. It is great to see both teams play with such much enthusiasm. Well done to everyone involved and good luck for the rest of the seaon.
