Saturday saw the 1st game for the WTL 3’s after having to concede last week A very young team travelled to Medomsley to face South North and after winning the toss we batted first.
In our 40 overs we posted 138/6 with contributions of 56 from Hill debutant Laurie Kitchen, 34 from Rohaan Aatif and 21 from Jim Robinson. Despite being disappointed at only scoring 2 runs Rory Mustard showed character and maturity above his age, holding up an end whilst senior batters got the runs.
In reply South North we’re on 102/5 when rain brought a halt to proceedings. Laurie Kitchen added 2 wickets to the 56 runs to cap a good start to his Hill career. The other wickets were shared around with the skipper getting one along with Ben Robison with his first senior wicket and Warren Poxon with one wicket and two catches.
The future looks bright with this young group of lads.
