The 2024 Season is galloping along and this Saturday we reach halfway in our League Programme. It is all to play for and I am sure you will join me in wishing the very best of luck to all our teams.
The Junior Section of the Club might be the strongest it has ever been and the Northumberland County Schools teams have a strong representation from our boys and girls. Congratulations to Hayden Mustard who played for England U19's against Sri Lanka recently and further congratulations to brother Rory who made his NEPL league debut for the First Team at the age of 15 two weeks ago.
At the other end of the scale the All Stars programme concluded last Friday with the traditional visit of Starman. 40 young players new to BHCC enrolled and I am ever grateful to Team Wright and the rest of the volunteers who run these sessions.
Off the field the Club has been busy as ever. The Euro fans have weathered the England roller coaster ride and the Final should be a great night in the bar.
On the Charitable front top marks to those who have been remembering the late great Tom Murphy with contributions to the British Heart Foundation.
On the ground front keen eyed Members will have noticed that the enormous Dunsford/Jackson tree is no more. This has opened up the vista on the Western Terrace.
All we need now is some sunshine!
Finally, our ever loyal cleaner Gladys Campbell has decided to retire. Gladys has threatened this before but this time she says she means it. All of the Members of BHCC owe Gladys a vote of thanks for her years of service - she will be much missed.
