The winner of the 2026 Benwell Hill Fantasy Cricket league is none other than ....
Andy Dawson, who's team finished with a total of 9357 points.
Thanks to his own fantastic performance on the field in the final match of the season (carrying his bat for 85 not out in the 2nd's win over South North) Andy pipped Michael Maclauchlan by the finest of margins (only 2 points), with Jayem Patel completing the podium in 3rd place, a further 47 points behind Michael. Congratulations to the Top 3 who will enjoy £100, £40 and £20 BHCC bar credit respectively.
Thanks to his strong finish to the season Dave Christie finished as top points scoring player with 1354 points, Ayush courtesy of his fantastic season finished with 1268 points (Ayush was the best value player, i.e. total points divided by rating). The evergreen James Walder who had a great season with the bat pipped Michael Maclauchlan (the bridesmaid) for third place in the Top individual points scorer rankings. Although Michael did have the consulation of making the Fantasy Team of the Season (see below).
