With the promise of decent weather and the 4 day long Easter weekend, the opening of the 2019 cricket season promises to be a cracker. The 1st XI have a double header, on Saturday they entertain Whtburn at the Hill (11:15 start) in the first fixture of the 2019 NEPL season, and on Sunday, the Hill are hosting the Semi Final and Finals of the 2018 Smithson Cup. The 2nd XI are away to Whitburn on Saturday in the reverse fixture (12:15 start), and the 3rd XI start their West Tyne League season at Stamfordham (1:30 start).
Sunday's Smithson Cup games start at 12 noon, when the Hill entertain Ashington in the semi final, with the winners due to play Newcastle in the final, starting at 3:15pm.
