There was a set of mixed results on another weekend heavily impacted by rain. At the Hill there was a delayed start, after Burnmoor had won a crucial toss. Not surprisingly they inserted us into bat, and after a steady start we quickly slipped from 20 for 0 to 64 for 7 and then 81 all out within 30 overs. Within that total only Finn McCreath with an excellent 46, and Angus Guy with 17 made double figures. Despite the heavy clouds and impending rain Burnmoor took till the 44th over over to chase down the score for the loss of only 1 wicket.

The 2nd's had a gritty 48 run victory away to Sunderland, with a wet wicket the Hill were inserted by the home team, and struggled to 73 for 6, until some later order runs elevated the total to 150 for 9 declared from 50 overs. Top score with Will Archbold with 36, Joe Fletcher scored 30, Joe Kilpatrick 27 and Peter Jones 21. In reply Sunderland lost wickets regularly and eventually were dismissed 102 all out. Spin twins Pete Jones (3 for 13) and Safi Bhuiyan (3 for 20) the pick of the bowlers. The victory cements the 2nd's place at the top of the Division 2 table

The West Tyne 3rd XI visited Mitford on Saturday and after losing the toss we put in to bat posting 110 with only Rashid Shad (30) and Davey Ladd (35) making double figures. Mitford knocked off the runs in 29th over, 3 wickets down. 2 wickets for Harry Reeves and one for all rounder Davey Ladd.

On Sunday the NEPL 3rd XI had an excellent 122 run victory against top of the table Newcastle. The Hill posted a terrfic 232 for 5 in a game which was limited to 34 overs per side. Zain Ahmed the stand out performer with 100, his first century for the club (according to play cricket anyway). Newcastle finished on 110 for 8 from their 34 overs, wickets were shared around, 2 each for Matthew Lockey and Harry Reeves, and 1 each for Abu Siddique, Ben Moody, Haroon Malik and Safi Bhuiyan.
