Huge congratulations to Benwell Hill Director of Cricket who has been named as the ICC Associate Player of the Decade.
Quoting from the ICC website article detailing his award :
"I’m completely overwhelmed by all the messages today and it’s something I will always cherish,’ Coetzer posted on Instagram. ‘Amazing to see so many Cricket Scotland nominees male and female and well done to Kathryn Bryce on winning the women’s award. Thank you for all the support on my journey so far and I look forward to what is still to come."
Over the last decade, Coetzer was a stalwart in the Scottish men’s team across all formats, participating in World Cups in 2014 and 2016. His 3429 runs across ODIs and T20Is was the most of any Associate player, with a high score of 156 against Bangladesh in 2015, the only century by an Associate at a World Cup. The impressive knock was one of his four hundreds during the decade, also notching up 16 half-centuries.
