Saturday's 1st and 2nd XI games versus Sacriston fell victim to Covid as a number of the Sacriston players were forced into isolation, however the 3rd XI game against Newton in the West Tyne Leagie went ahead at Mowden Hall school, and what a game it was with two Hill batsmen scoring centuries.
After losing the toss and being put into bat, things didn't look good as we fell to 2 for 2 after 2 overs, and then 23 for 3. however Joe Anderson a late replacement made the most of an the oportunity and an early life to score a magnificemnt 172 runs off 91 balls (16 x 4s and 10 x 6s), he was ably assited by Andy Dawson who also socred a century (101 not out), as the pair put on a 4th wicket stand of 236, the Hill eventually finishing on 310 for 7 in their 40 overs. Newton never attempted to chase down the total and finsihed on 59 for 8, Harry Reeves and Joe Torre taking 3 wickets each.
