One team who did get played and finished over the weekend was our Under 15 team. They travelled to Carlton Cricket Club in Edinburgh on Sunday for the North Regional final of the ECB Cup.
Sticking to the format played in the previous rounds, the final was a 20 over game. Carlton batted first posting 122 for 5 in their alloted overs. Rory Mustard (!) top wicket taker with 2 for 15 off 3 overs, with a wicket each for Ben Robinson, Fergus Wallace and Aaron Armstrong.
Our reply started well with both openers passing 20, however the key moment of the game came when Rory was out caught, on what looked to most like an above waist high delivey. We then lost Aaron and Gabriel Mellor cheaply, and despite useful knocks from Fergus and keeper Liam Hynd, we finished 99 all out in the last over.
Congratulations to Carlon, and good luck in the next round, and a huge well done to our lads for progressing so far in the competiition.
