Another frustrating week for the Under 11s and Under 13s. There has been 4 games lost to the weather, last Sunday's Under 11 fixture (25th June) at Ponteland and this week's (1st July) versus Stocksfield; and for the Under 13s the NEPL game during half term at Chester le Street and this Sundays game at home to Tynemouth.
The Under 15s managed to get some cricket played, Thursday's NEPL game versus South Shields was eventually abandoned, with the visitors looking the most likely to win . Batting first we scored 100 for 9 from 38 overs, largely due to a very patient innings of 36 from Fardin Bhuyian off 107 balls. South Shields were 32 for 1 off 11 overs when the rain intervened.
On Monday 3rd July the Under 15s lost to Tynemouth by 16 runs. Chasing 110, we eventually finished at 94 for 7. Special mention to Haydon Mustard, who scored 52 (retired) in that total, it was another terrific knock from the 12 year old in what has turned out to be an excellent start to his 2019 season.
