Ladies Team - End of Season Review

Ladies Team - End of Season Review

16 Nov 2024

This year started with fresh optimism after a successful indoor winter league, giving some players more confidence and also gained some new players and a new sponsor.

Laura continued as team captain and Amy moved in a team manager. Having 17 players on our list I was confident that it would result in better training and give us a chance to compete in a very strong league. Sadly that wasn’t to be, availability, injuries and exams made getting a team together very difficult.

We managed to play 3 games, lose 3 games to the weather and sadly concede 2 games due to low numbers. We may not of won a game however the girls had so much fun when we played it didn’t matter! The younger ones continue to develop and get better every game and the more senior players are fantastic at keeping everyone going and playing with a smile on their face. The season finished too early for us as when players played they remembered how much fun it was and wanted to play every week but sadly it was September by then.

What we will do is come back next year stronger than ever, we have a couple of juniors coming into the team and plan a big recruitment drive as well as trying to make our current distant players fall back in love with the game at our club. I truly believe this team will succeed and we are so close to doing so.

Keep the faith.
