The 49th Benwell Hill Annual Golf day took place on Sunday 12th October at Ponteland Golf Club with 24 golfers (!) contending for the prestigious AU March Trophy, the singles stableford competition which was first held back in 1975 (won back then by current Hill President Tom Williamson), and it was fitting that Tom was on hand on Sunday to present the trophy to his grandson Max, who won on the day with a magnificent 40 points, shooting a 1 over par round of 73, off a 5 handicap. Second place was Gary Lloyd with 37 points and third place was Scott Williamson with 36 points. Nearest the pins were won by Scott Williamson (2nd hole), Luke Mussett (7th hole) and Aaron Rourke (16th hole), longest drive (18th hole) was won by Max.
The pairs competition was won by Max (40) and Kyle Blackmore (30), the pair had a combined 18 hole score of 70 points, second place was Gary Lloyd (37) and Joe Moore (32) with 69 points, third place was Ben Cant (35) and Leighton Hopper (33) with 68 points.
