In the disappointment of the end of season hammering by Burnopfield, it was missed by everyone apart from our eagle eyed statistician Dave McKay, that skipper Pete Halliday and Phil Bell has broken the record 6th wicket partnership for the Hill 1st XI in league cricket. The pair put on 143 runs beating the previous best of 125 between Nick Craig and Stewart Allen against Tynemouth in 1978, Dave also reminded us that the partnership was during Nick Craig's innings of 175 runs.. That innings remarkable in its own right given it was out of team score of 236 for 9, also still stands as the highest individual score by a Hill 1st XI batsman in league cricket.
