It's been a busy few weeks since the end of the season for Head of Senior Cricket Phil NIcholson, with no fewer than 5 new players recruited already for the 2026 season.
Announced this week are the signings of 26 year old South African all rounder David Christie from Western Cape, and ex South North, Tynemouth and Burnopfield batsman Sam Dinning. These come on the back of the signings of ex Washington and Chester le Street seamer Mark Watson and batsman/wicket keeper Toby Barton from Sussex, who is in the North East for the first third of the season at Durham University, we are also delighted to announce that fellow Durham University student Sam Martin-Jenkins will be with us again at the start of next season. Keeping up the overseas theme, we will have some Antipodean presence in the dressing room next year, Abu Siddique will no doubt have an Aussie twang following his winter down under, and we have also added New Zealander all rounder Ben Cant (ex Newcastle CC) to the ranks. Ben who now lives permanently in Newcastle (part of the Haxon dynasty through marriage) qualifies as a UK player.
Whilst we are also delighted to retain the services of the key players from our title winning season in Max Williamson, Lee Crozier and Rory Mustard for next year, we are disappointed to announce that Callum Harding has left us to join Burnmoor.
