Yesterday we hosted our first Presidents Day match in a number of years, and it was great to see current and ex players throughout the day.
On the field a current Hill Players XI skippered by President Tom Williamson's grandson, Max, took on a team largely made up of Hill Old Boys skippered by our current Head of Cricket Phil Nicholson. The old boys team included Haydon Mustard, Graeme Race, Callum Harding, Marcus Turner, Dan Gardiner, Pete Halliday, John Chambers, Joe Moore, Joe Kilpatrick, plus current Hill stalwart Lee Crozier.
The Old Boys XI batted first and scored 174 in their 30 overs with useful contributions from Joe Moore, Marcus Turner and Pete Halliday, The Hill XI were still in the game needing 46 to win off 7 overs with 4 wickets left when the heavens opened and the game was abandoned.

“I would like to thank everyone who was involved with Presidents Day. To both sets of players for giving up their time to play on a Bank Holiday weekend. Apart from the last bit of rain, that denied the President’s team a win, it couldn’t have gone any better. I would like to thank Phil Nicholson and Phil Haves for making it go as smoothly as it did.
