The 1st XI remain top of the North Group of the Banks Salver with a convincing 76 run victory over Gateshead Fell at Denton Bank. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Hill scored a formidable 240 for 7 in their 40 overs where no batsman reached 50 but there were consistent contributions right down the order from Coetzer 32, Schofield 31, Doneathy 25, Nicholson 31 and McCreath who top scored with 36.

In reply, excellent new ball bowling from Rory Hanley and Kyle Coetzer kept the Fell behind the clock and they eventually finished on  164 for 6 after 40 overs. With two tough games to go next Bank Holiday weekend against South North and Ashington, qualification remains in our own hands as we look to qualify for the quarter finals.
