Season finale washout

Season finale washout

14 Sep 2022

Unfortunately after the best summer's weather in over a decade, the final weekend of the season proved to be a total washout, with the 1st and 2nd XI games against Chester le Street called  off on Saturday morning after the all day and night deluge on the Friday.

A couple of games did get started in the Premier League at South North and Jesmond but they were abandoned when the rain returned late on Saturday afternoon. The only game that got finshed in Northumberland saw Tynedale 1st XI beat Alnmouth at Alnmouth to secure their place in the North East Premier League for 2023. Congratulations to everyone involved at Priors Flat, great to have another Northumberland team in the Premier League.

Sunday's Under 19 County Cup final against Tynemouth also fell foul of the weather, however this has been re-arranged for Saturday 17th September with a 1pm start at Tynemouth.
