For the first time ever Benwell Hill entered 2 teams in to the Squash Summer leagues.
The 1st team competed very strongly winning 12 out of the 14 games and won the league overall. The top 4 teams were invited to Tynemouth to have a play off for the trophy. The 1st team beat Boldon in the semi’s and then had a 2-2 draw with Newbiggin in the final with Newbiggin winning 7-6 on points. Benwell Hill 1st team finished runners up in the cup so overall a fantastic Summer League for the 1st team.
The newly formed B team played well finishing mid table, Pete Brown (B Team Captain) commented :
"A great start for the Benwell Hill B Team in the summer league. We had some amazing and challenging games which gave us opportunities to learn from & develop as a team. We can’t wait to get started in the winter league and hopefully plenty of wins, Bring it on!"
