It was a familiar scene on Saturday for Rory and Joe, as they sat and watched the rain fall on Day 2 of their debut game in 2nd grade for Palm Beach Currumbin cricket club, the day being washed out and the game finishing as a draw.
Their team was in a great position after Day 1 (last Satuday), after a promising display from both lads, Joe Anderson scoring 21 and Rory 12, in a modest total of 133 all out, however they had the oppostion at 61 for 5 at end of Day 1, with Rory taking 2 wickets in the first over of the game.
Hopefully the weather will improve for next week, with all 3 lads hoping to play in the 1st grade game. For info the 1st grade team had a bye for the past 2 Saturday's (hence Max's lack of a game), and with both Rory and Joe new to the club, the 2nd grade game was a perfect opportunity for Palm Beach to get an early look at their skills.
