Weekend Review (13-14 July): 1s and 2s games abandoned, West Tyne 3s lose at Humshaugh but NEPL 3s back on winning trail

The 1st XI game against Chester le Street got underway but heavy showers won the day with the Hill at 74 for 1 off 21 overs when the game was halted. James Schofield (39no) and Rory Hanley (14no) the men in the middle, with Adam Heather (17) the man out.

The 2nd XI game didn't even start at the Hill as the game was eventually abandoned at 3:30.

Unfortunately the 3rd XI game did go ahead, in what turned into an easy win for Humshaugh. As batting collapses go, this one was up there with the best as we went from 40 for 2 to 44 for 9, in about 5 overs. Chris Pounder and Matt Reeves then shut up shop in the hope the rain would arrive, but despite rain dances on the sidelines, the rain stayed away and our 56 for 9 was quickly knocked off by the hosts in 10 overs.
