Hill lads head off to India with Durham CCC

13 Feb 2019

Two more Hill youngster are getting the fantastic opportunity to play cricket overseas this winter. This time its Rory Hanley and Luke Doneathy who are jetting off to distant shores. They are part of a group of Durham CCC and Durham CCC Academy players going to Bangalore on 14th February. The lads will undertake a series of training sessions at the prestigious M Chinnaswamy Stadium, home to IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore, while also playing two matches against strong local opposition. The touring party is being led by ex Hill star, John Windows, and includes Alex Lees, Jack Burnham, Liam Trevaskis and Ben Whitehead.

John added, “India is cricket-mad but Bangalore is absolutely cricket-mad & we’re right in the centre of the city, which is a super experience for the lads. We’re extremely well looked after by the Karnataka State Cricket Association, they have a real passion for cricket & are really pleased to have us, so it’s a great relationship to have. It’s a change in environment, a completely different approach to cricket so they’ll have to adapt to the conditions, practice alongside & against some excellent bowlers.”

From everyone at the Hill, have a great time and good luck.
