International Honours for Luke Doneathy and Rory Hanley

Two Benwell Hill youngsters have been recognised nationally for their respective countries.

Luke Doneathy who has been training with England Under 19s, starred with bat and ball for a Young England Lions XI against Bangladesh Under 19s at Brockington in Leicestershire on Thursday 18th July. He took 3 wickets for 27 runs off 7 overs, and then followed it with an excellent 58. Luke and fellow Durham Acadmey player Sol Bell (Sacriston) being the top scorers as the England team fell 100 run short of their target.

Rory Hanley was this week selected for the Scotland Under 19 squad for their World Cup qualifer game against Netherlands later this month. The 14-man squad will travel to the Netherlands on 24th July to fight for the last remaining spot at the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February 2020.

Both players have also represented Durham 2nd XI in past few weeks. Huge congratulations from everyone at the Hill for their achievements so far and good luck for the remainder of the season.
