As the end of 2021 nears and the dust has now settled on another cricket season, I think it’s time to congratulate the Benwell Hill Board for guiding us through the challenges thrown at us throughout the year. On the field the Hill teams performed exceptionally well, with the 2nd XI proving outstanding in the league and cup competitions, winning 4 trophies.
I am assured by our coaches that we have the best group of juniors for some time, which bodes well for the future. I congratulate and thank all the coaches for continuing to develop the talent that will no doubt keep this club strong for many years to come.
The strength of any club is having depth in all aspects from the playing and the coaching sides, the committee and management team (all of whom give their time for nothing) through to the staff and the social members.
As I have said many times before, we are all just “custodians” of our club and its future depends on the continued support and contribution from all members.
