We are looking for a person to assist with the upkeep of the Benwell Hill Cricket Club field. This would be working with a small team of those who prepare the ground. The technical work on the cricket square and the outfield are already covered by others.
The successful applicant will expected to work alongside both staff members and volunteers at this community cricket club.
This role will cover the following:
Some basic tasks preparing for the ground for games. (Training will be given in this area)
Strimming/cutting and tidying to the ground surrounds.
Planting and Watering.
Assisting with the movement of covers etc.
To assist in the opening and closing of the Changing rooms/ greeting of visitors etc.
To clean gutters and gullies etc
This list is not exhaustive, it is simply typical of what might be expected.
Pay and Conditions
The pay will be in line with the Government Minimum wage rules. It is seasonal job from April until September. Whilst it will be zero hours contract it is anticipated that the hours will vary between 10 and 15 hours per week during the summer.
The candidate
The successful candidate will need to be reasonably flexible in terms of hours as no week is the same at a cricket club.
The candidate must be comfortable carrying some tasks which are light manual.
The candidate must be comfortable using some light plant and machinery for which appropriate safety training will be given.
The candidate might come from any background there being no need for specific previous experience.
