It was a frustrating Saturday with both the first and second teams games abandoned without a ball being bowled. However the 3rd's took advantage of a break in the weather to post a 10 wicket vistory over Belsay. A strong bowling attacked skittled the opposition out for only 32, Paul Askell (3 for 10), Aqueel Tassawar (3 for 9), Joe Barnes (2 for 9) and Shaun Rushton (1 for 3) the wicket takers, Darhs didn't even get a bowl. We chased the total down in only 6 overs, Davey Ladd smashing 21no, and the returning Leighton Hopper 10no.
3rd XI West Tyne scorecard v Belsay
On Sunday the NEPL 3rd team recorded another victory, by 4 wickets against Hetton Lyons. All rounder Peter Jones (!) with 40 runs and 2 for 17, Zain Ahmed (25), John Chambers (24) and Andrew Jewitt 3 for 44 the top performers.
