In what is likely to be a regular occurance this season, the 3rd's had a double header on Sunday, with the West Tyne league team hosting Newton and the NEPL 3rd's travelling to Gateshead Fell, and hopefully its a good omen, as both teams recorded excellent wins, NEPL wininng by 162 runs and the West Tyne team winning by 50 runs.
At the Hill the West Tyne 3rd's batted first and scored 212 for 6, John Chambers top scoring with 70 not out, there was also a half century for Zain Ahmed (52), Rashid Shad scored 43 and Davey Ladd (32). Newton finished on 162 for 7, with 2 wickets apiece for Chris Pounder, Zain Ullah, Safan Bhuiyan.

At the Fell, the NEPL 3rd's also batted first, scoring 251 for 5, Will Archbold top scoring with 86, Rohan Aatif scoring 68, and useful contributions from Matthew Lockey 26, Joe Fletcher 24, Freddie McGregor 19 and Jim Robinson 18. Gateshead Fell were then skittled for 86 with 3 wickets each for Andy Jewitt and Owen Blackburn, 2 for Joe Fletcher and 1 each for Abu Siddique and Shay Marley.
