There was further frustration for the 1st XI as Saturday's leage game at home to Chester-le-Street had to be cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch. There was better news for the 2nd XI, West Tyne 3rd XI and NEPL 3rd XI in that their games got played, however all 3 matches ended in defeat.

West Tyne 3rd XI scorecard v Belsay (away)- Chris Pounder's match report
The West Tyne 3’s returned to action on Saturday after last week’s concession by Newton with a trip up to Belsay. After winning the toss and fielding first 3’s got off to a good start with the skipper taking two early wickets (Fenwick caught behind for 6 and Sheriff dragging on for 1) Sam Stillwell bowled Mills for 12 before Sheron and Nuwan put on a big partnership with the former making 102 which swung the game in Belsay’s favour. Safi who was a late call up due to the cancellation of the 1’s fixture was the pick of the bowlers with 4/34 and he was backed up by the impressive Ibraham Tayyab and Fergus Wallace who was unfortunate that his last over went for 25 as Sheron put his foot down to get to his century. Belsay would finish 196/7
In reply Darsh (41) and Laura (16) got us off to a good start. Shiva followed with 13 before Safi (15) was out to a brilliant catch at short 3rd man. Fergus (37) came in next and put on a good partnership with Ibraham (15) it after Fergus was out wickets fell quickly and 3’s would finish 40 runs short.
Lots of positives again despite the defeat.

NEPL Sunday 3rd XI v Gateshead Fell (away)
Despite losing by 6 wickets there was still plenty of positives in the NEPL 3rd XI game against Gateshead Fell. The Hill batted first posting 171 for 6 in 40 overs. 15 year old Fergus Wallace top scoring with an excellent 49. There was also useful contributions from fellow Under 15 team mates Ben Robinson (29) and Ayush Chakraborty (21).
The Fell made short shrift of the Hill's total , raching their target for loss of 4 wickets in 30 overs, there was a wicket each for our top run scorers Fergus, Ben and Ayush.
